General science resources
There are two main places to look for further information:
Books and other databases on the web, which include links to lesson plans.
Saunders and Rennie (2013) piloted a method teachers can use to teach socioscientific issues with their studies. Teaching science through socioscientific issues has been shown to improve student engagement and interest in science. They provided teachers with professional development on how to implement the framework. They also have two websites available for teachers who are not from New Zealand or Australia:
A framework for ethical analysis, which helps students sort through complicated ethical issues by breaking the issues into discrete units for student discussion and analysis.
There is also an online ethics thinking tool to help students implement the framework for ethical analysis.
